Chad putting the thing together

Chad and I had bought this activity easel two years ago and were going to give it to Kipling for his 1rst B-Day(never happened), 2nd Christmas 2007(never happened), 2nd B-day(never happened), 3rd Christmas 2008(never happened), when Sada was born(never happened), 3rd B-Day(you get the point), 4th Christmas 2009 never happened. I went under the house to go and look for some stuff and there it was. I told Chad a couple days later to go and get it and have them open it up because if we do not do it now we will forget about it again. They love it, they draw on it all the time. The kids I watch even enjoy it before and after school. I am glad we finally have given Kip and Sada this gift and do not have to wait for our grandchildren to get it as a gift. It was worth waiting now Kip is old enough to enjoy it!!

Today's Doctors Visit

I gained 4 pds. from the last time I went in. The doctor is very please with the way I am measuring and the heartbeat was strong and healthy.
YEAH!!!! That is all we can ask for.
Long but a good visit. I also had my glucose test today. I really like that drink they give you. I know some people do not, but I do not seem to have a problem with it.
My next visit is in 2 weeks. I was talking to my Sis-in-law who is due a week before me and she said she is going every two weeks now. I told her I thought that was weird I thought you started that at 30 weeks and so when my doctors said we will see you in 2 weeks, I said,"WHAT?!?! you do not want to see me that often so soon. He laughed. He knows I am right.

Looking back on 2009

January-Chad turned 32 and I turned 31
Had a MRI done on my ankle and found out my PVNS came back, need to have surgery again
and have radiation treatments on my ankle

February-See a specialist at Chapel Hill about radiation and surgery.
Chad loses his job 2 days later
I find out we are pregnant that next week.

March-23rd we have a doctors appointment and have an ultrasound. I am 10 6 days weeks along and the baby is healthy and there should be no reason why I should not be able to carry the baby full term. They also do a procedure on my Cervix that same day because it was bleeding, but my Uterus was in good shape.
24th bleeding still go in and they do another procedure on my cervix. Check the baby's heart beat on the monitor and it was strong and healthy.
25th at 2am I wake up soaking wet wake Chad up and go to the bathroom. I lose the baby a little later. Kipling woke up during that time and was there the whole time, he would not leave my side.
26th I call the doctor and tell him I lost the baby. They were in total disbelief. I go in by myself because we could not find anyone to watch the kids. They take me right back do an ultrasound and the next thing I know I am on my way to Rex Hospital to have a D&C.
One of the hardest thing I have had to deal with in my life.

April-blur...

May- Chad starts a job
May 11th had another miscarriage at home. Did not have any insurance so I did not do anything. I think I was only 6-8 weeks so I called a couple of friends who had, had miscarriages and the doctors really did not do anything so I just let it go.

May 12th Chad and I celebrated our 9th anniversary WOW time does go by fast.
Memorial Day we went to Atlantic beach with my family for a week. That was a lot of fun.

June-Kip, Sada, and I spent a lot of time at our Clayton Library's Summer Reading program.
They had Smokey the bear, Chick-fi-la, the Science Museum come, Clayton Police, Clayton Fire, Duke Life Flight, an author, had puppet shows, and much more.

July- Summer Reading program
20th I had ankle surgery.....what a treat

August I found out I was pregnant again.
Sada turned 1. We went and saw Ronald McDonald perform and then went and ate at McDonald's. Came home and we celebrated her Birthday with a Brownie Cake. My mother was still here I was still crippled. Sada started taking steps before I did.

Sept. Started bleeding for 2 weeks until I hit my 2nd Tri-mester. Boy was I freaking out.

Oct. Happy Halloween we had a little Halloween party here at the house. Also Halloween day my mother came to my sisters so we went over there for dinner and trick or treating.
All is well with the Pregnancy!!

Nov. Thanksgiving with Chads parents and then off to my parents house to go shopping on Black Friday with my Mother. Celebrated Kips Birthday with my family, had Thanksgiving dinner again and spent time with family.

Dec. Kipling turned 3. Chad took off two days and we had a blast. We went to the kids club house across the street and played in their blow up jumping things, I do not know who had more fun Kipling and Sad or Chad. We also had a Brownie Cake for Kipling.
Chad and I went on a date-we have not done that for a long time. Chads parents watched the Kids and we went to Red Lobster-Oh it was good.
We put up our Christmas tree which I need to post about...I do not know what happened to that. We had ornaments on half the tree, Sada would take the ornaments off and she broke 3 of them.
We took a little vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge in Concord. That was so much fun. I cannot wait until we can do that again. I was sad to leave.
Visited with friends and family and just had a wonderful Christmas Season this year.
OH, I made ornaments this year for each of the children and our parents.
What a great way to end the year.

New Years Eve Bash/Kipling Abcess

Our New Years Eve week went a little rough. The Sunday before Kipling came to me telling me his leg hurt. I thought maybe it was growing pains since he has gotten taller over the past couple of weeks. I looked at his leg and he had a bump with a white head on it so I called Chad to come and pop it (he has had one before and this is what the doctor told us to do). Chad popped it and some stuff came out but not much. The next day we kept an eye on it and Chad popped it every now and then through out the day-Of course with Kipling kicking and screaming and being held down. Tuesday it got really big the size of an orange. So, I called "Nurse Pam" and told her what was going on, she told me if he gets a temperature he needs to be seen right away. So, I send Chad off with Kip and Sada to his parents house so he can change the oil and also the kids can play over there while I clean the house, since I had been sick the week before. They come home about 5:00 and Kip comes and gives me a hug and when I give him a kiss on his forehead it is burning up. I tell Chad to go and get the Thermometer and his temp was 102.9. Oh my I start freaking out. I call the doctor and the receptionist asks if it's an emergency, I say "I think so". The nurse gets on the line, I start crying...Chad takes the phone. Next thing I know I am rushing out the door to get to a doctors apt. by 6:00 at Rex hospital (Raleigh Children Peds). We get there they take us right back. Side note I am having to carry Kipling everywhere because he cannot walk to very fun nor safe for me. They ask there normal questions and they start checking check is ears-Yep he's got an ear infection, check his throat-Yep he's got white on his throat, check his chest that is okay. Then we get to the bump?!?!? Oh my he has a big abcess. They check his white blood count and it is 27000, doctor says Oh my that is high. So, poor kid gets two antibiotic shots while we are at the doctors office and on the way home I have to pick up two more perscriptions (which the doctor had put four anitbiotics into 2 perscriptions thank goodness) he had to take them that night. The next morning he had to go back. Chad was back at work so I had to take Sada to Chad's parents house and rush to the doctor. We got back to the room I was taking off his pants and the bump popped. OH my this was so GROSS!!! I told the doctor it had popped and she said oh good then turned around and said OH MY. She had to get gause and clean it. Kipling by this time is SCREAMING, a nurse comes running in because he is kicking and screaming while the doctor was trying to clean it up. The nurse holds the top of him down while I hold his other leg down. The puss kept coming and coming, meanwhile Kipling is hitting and throwing things at the nurse. Boy am I embarassed!!! It finally slowed down enough where the doctor could go and get the test to see if what was coming out was a staff infection or not. We finally leave--NOT A FUN VISIT!! The last words were I need to see him tomorrow and if it has not gone down he will have to go and see the surgeon upstairs (Rex hospital). So, I schedule and appointment and we head back the next day. We end up having to see the General Surgeon of Rex Hospital. Chad had to work again but he was able to get off early so I had him meet me at the hospital so we could meet with the surgeon together. My thought was and what the doctor told me he was going to do was just clean out the abcess some more. By this time Kiplings fever has not gone down neither has his white blood count which we find out a normal count is 11000 so it is over double what is should be. We discuss what our concerns are with the surgeon and then he looks at it, and says you have two choices to hospitalize him or take him home and watch him carefully. I looked at the surgeon like are you kidding me. I did not know what do say. SO, I ask the surgeon what he would do in this situation because I have not clue, I am relying on your expertise to tell me what is best. At the same time he keeps telling us if we hospitalize him that it is a very tramatic thing for a 3 year old to go through. So, WHAT DO YOU DO??? He finally told us he would take his child home and keep an eye on him and if it gets worse to take him to the emergency room and he will be on call. So, we took Kipling home, he wanted to go to Grandmothers house really bad, got dressed to go to Chuck and Linda Annual New Years Eve Bash. As well as make something to take with us. We rushed over to Chads parents house so we could spend time with Sada before having to leave for the party.
We had a lot of fun this year at Chuck and Linda's we ate, kareoke, ate, played an adverb game and then time was up. We rang in the New Year WOW 2010 already. When we got back to Chads parents house to pick up the kids, Kip and Sada were still awake. They rang in the New Year with Grandmother and Grandpa Simpson. Kipling leg is pretty much all better now and he is back to normal walking and running and acting up. So, he is back to normal.
It is sad to see them lay around the house when they are sick like that but they are so quite at the same time and he was immobile for a while so it was nice in a way.
We are glad he is back to normal.

We had so much fun over Christmas spending time with our families. Even though most of Chad and I family live here in NC it is still hard to get everyone together in one place. Kipling slept through the opening of the presents. He had his own encore of opening presents by himself,
he did not seem to mind.

Christmas Day

Sada enjoying the Christmas Goodies
Making plates to deliver
Peanut Butter Balls
Chinese Chews, pretzels and Ritz crackers with peanut butter dipped in chocolate
This year I did not do a good job taking pictures of the kids opening up their gifts, we tried to video tape and they were not to interested in opening up their presents until we put up the camera. We had a wonderful Christmas, the children slept in, and when they woke up we did the Christmas program that is in our Church's Family Home Evening manual. We read scriptures and sang Christmas songs. It was amazing and Kip and Sada actually sat through the whole presentation. After the program we let the children go out to the tree and see their presents. After opening up the presents we ate breakfast and then I finished making the treats and putting them together. The plan was to have all of the baking done by the 23rd and have the plates delivered, but since I was sick up til the 23rd I did not get to start making the treats until Christmas Eve, which is when we go Christmas Caroling with Chad's parents (no pictures of this event sorry). So, I was running against the clock with this project. Chad did help me out so I cannot take all of the credit. After the plates were finished we hopped in the car and delivered plates to some inactive members in our ward at church, our church leaders and also our wonderful Stake Leaders I work with. We were supposed to be at Chad's parents house at 1pm put did not get there til 3pm. We had a lot of fun visiting with everyone on Christmas Day.

Christmas Program-A Day in Bethleham

3 wise men giving gifts
Look at the size of that turkey leg

and bread
a feast for a KING
Sada trying out the Turkey Leg
Chad loved the turkey leg
Pres. Antley and Evan
Joseph and Mary
This was such a wonderful program put on by our ward at church. Pretty much everyone(except us) dressed up as they in Jesus' time. When you came to the city(cultural hall) there was a Roman Soldier who gave us a bag of coins. With those coins you had to buy your dinner. Which consisted of Turkey Legs(you get at the State Fair), chicken legs for the children (free), Bread and cheese(which was the most expensive), and fruit (free). After the meal they had a wonderful program which consisted of singing about Christ's life and his birth and then the presentation of the wise men giving Baby Jesus gifts. This was a very touching and spiritual event.

We have a Quasimoto

Chad came home from work and decided to put on the original Huntch Back from Notre Dame.
He then decided while I was eating and Sada wanted to help that Sada needed to be Quasimoto. I thought it was so funny. She played the part well.

Mommy and Me Time

Every Tues. the Kids Clubhouse across the street from our subdivision has free Mommy and Me time where the kids and parent(s) can go and jump for free. We take advantage of this whenever we can. We went with my friend Jennifer and her son Keenan this particular day and after the playgroup we both decided Mexican sounded good(both pregnant women). We hopped in the car and went to the new Mexican restaurant down the street. While we were there two Fire Trucks showed up, the kids were so excited. However, while we were eating one of them got a call and had to leave, but the kids had so much fun climbing and looking at the fire truck.Keenan, Sada and Kip

Is this safe!!
