Great Wolf Lodge Concord/Charlotte

We had such a great time at the Great Wolf Lodge. Chad had to go to Charlotte for a class to get his PDH hours for the year. His company was paying the lodging and when we saw the cost for the Hilton was not much more than the Great Wolf Lodge, we took advantage of it, and it was amazing. We left Monday at 9:05am and we stopped off at a Chick-fi-la near Burlington (would be the chick-fi-la we would go to if we moved down there). While we were there I asked the general manager if they had a toddler time since we were thinking about moving there and needed activities. I talked to the marketing director as well as the owner of the store. Boy did I feel imp0rtant. The kids enjoyed eating and playing. We made it to the GWL about 1:30 when I checked in they upgraded us to a Jacuzzi suite. Oh I was excited. We got settled in and headed to the water park. That was fun yet stressful having two little ones by myself, Kipling had a great time Sada wanted nothing to do with the water and just wanted me to hold her the whole time. Kipling soon discovered the Arcade, I told him he had a certain amount of money and when it was spent he was done. He discovered the old car, both of them could ride in as well as the carousel and those became their favorites. Money ran out and it was time to go to the room. Kipling learned about money and how you have to earn money to spend money. Kipling decided to swim in the Jacuzzi when we got back to the room and sada went and took a nap. Tues. morning they had the wolf walk where they play I spy and learn about the different animal in the lodge. After we made an origami wolf (I was amazed I could make one). When Chad got home from his class on Tuesday we took the kids to the water park at first Kip was not to excited but after Chad put him down the water slide the first time, we could not get him off, he was on it til they closed. He got to know a lot of the lifeguards and they had so much fun with him. They would help him out of the slide and then give him high 5. Every night they had Rowdy the Reindeer and Santa come for story time, Kipling loved Rowdy. We had to see Rowdy every night. Between the water park, arcade, Rowdy the Reindeer, Santa, snow time in the lobby 3 times a day and coloring at cub club we were busy. On Weds. we woke up and they were supposed to have Rowdy in the lobby and he was not there. Kipling was so upset. He looked for him EVERYWHERE!! After talking to him for a while about Rowdy I talked him into going to the Water park after we checked out at 11pm. We of course had to watch it snow one last time at 10 am. So, we were there til about 2:30pm and left. It was nice because we were able to check in early on Monday and we did not have to leave the water park and we could use all of the amenities until we were ready to leave the last day. We had a lot of fun I hope you enjoy the pictures we love to look at them over and over.

You can get as many as you want you just have to order them separately. So what do you do. Go to uddercovers.com and find the one you want, when you are ready to check out you enter planning in the promo code section.

I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE

Kipling loves the Primary Song I Love to see the Temple. He sings it or has me sing it all the time. He had been asking to see the temple or go inside the Temple for sometime and just have not had the time to get him over there. Since we were going to my Sisters house and she lives right around the corner I decided it would be fun for him to go. He was so excited all the way there he wanted to know how much longer til we get to the temple. Hopefully he is this excited when he gets older...

trick or treating

cute picture of Hannah and Sada

this was the coolest house in the neighborhood

I love this picture of the full moon

Sada waiting at the door for candy

Sada going in for more candy this is her 2nd handful

This was our first house Kipling thought he was supposed to walk in and get his candy, I guess he has watch "Big Daddy":0)
My mother came into town since it was Hannah's(my sister's little girl) 1rst Halloween, so we went over to Heather's house to spend some time with my Mother as well as Heather and her family. We ate Chili for dinner(two nights in a row), and then we went trick or treating around her neighborhood. She lives in a big subdivision so we went to lots of houses. Sada got the hang of trick or treating right a way. She would wait at the door until someone came to the door and if they took to long she was looking in the window beside the doors. It was so funny. Kipling lagged behind and thought it was to much work for candy so he decided he wanted to sit in the stroller until he saw his sister has a lot more candy then he did. They are so funny together they just make me laugh. After trick or treating we came home and celebrated my mother's 65th Birthday with a homemade carrot cake ummmm.

Church Trunk or Treat

This year we decided to go to trunk or treating mostly because one of my good friends put it on. I was tired and burnt out by the end of the week (82 hours Chad put in). I made my Chili as I signed up to do, got the children dressed and off we went. We had to meet Chad there since of course he did not get off until late. We had a lot of fun even though getting there was a chore...We had a chili cook off first, then they had the kids play games (I was to busy helping Kip with the games there is only the picture of the cake walk), and then we had trunk or treating.

This was the best costume a man dressed as a huge lady...what a site

Pres. Antley, Sada and Chad trunk or treating

I decided to have some people over to have some fun with the Halloween season. I was goaing to make the cookies night before, but while I was making them I realized I had to refrigerate the dough for 2 hours. So, I put the dough in the fridge and went to bed and the children made cookies at the party and while they were baking/cooling down we had the candy walk, then they decorated the cookies and ate them. After eating we had a little trick or treating and off everyone went. We had lots of fun and I am looking forward to planning something little in November so look forward to a little craft day for Thanksgiving. If I feel up to it...

Boy or Girl

Today we went to the doctor and had an ultrasound and found out we are having a BOY:)
I have been so excited this past week both about finding out and also getting excited about having a baby. Yes, it is a little late into the pregnancy, but with the scares I had it was a little hard. I have been asking Kipling this week whether he was having a brother or a sister. His response up til two days ago was a SISTER, until yesterday he changed his mind he was going to have a brother. I do not know if it had anything to do with Chad saying he thought we were having a boy lately. I have been saying a boy all along.
After the ultrasound the tech gave the doctors the results and I looked at him and said we are having another BOY very excitedly. Then looking at the paper as we were walking out he said a PERFECT BOY at that. All of the numbers were great, the 4 chambers of the heart looked good, the kidneys looked good, the brain and the measurements were all very good. I was beaming. I told him I guess we did a good job this time. The heart beat was 155 beats per a minute and he is measuring 18weeks and 2 days at 6 oz.
WE ARE SO EXCITED TO HAVE A HEALTHY BABY BOY COMING OUR WAY IN APRIL:)

llama llama red pajama by Anna Dewdney

I just wanted to mention this book to anyone who has a baby, toddlers or young children. This is such a wonderful book. My children LOVE this book. I read it several times a day. It is sad that we will soon have to return this book to the Library but recommend this book to anyone. Oh course you have to read it with some emphasis, but we as a family have thoroughly enjoyed it. We have looked for it on the internet to purchase but it must be a popular book because it is one of the more expensive books.

Chick fi la fall festival

how cute we are

they had a cute puppet show

Kipling and Sada playing the duck game...actually they are playing in the water making a mess!!

Kipling hugging Clifford the Big Red Dog
Chick fi la put on a fall festival Tues. night and they had Clifford and Ms. Cow as well as most of their employees dressed up. They had different games for the kids to play as well as crafts and face painting. We had a lot of fun.

Going to the Zoo on Boo Day

On Saturday they had Boo at the Zoo where they had a lot of fun things to do and passed out some candy. Kipling wanted to see the animals so we did. The weather was pretty good. We did not know if we were going to go or not since it was going to be a rainy day, however we pack up and left. We got to Asheboro around noon and stop to eat at Cici's pizza (if you go there you have to have cash) then went to the zoo. It turned out to be a nice day.

A busy week

Sada had fun playing in the sand while Chad and I picked Sweet Potatos
Last Thursday Chad took off since he had already work 36hours and we went to the fair in the morning. We have never been to the fair during the day. I forgot my camera, however Kipling will tell you he had such a wonderful time petting the Cows, holding the chicks, baby ducks and even a baby turkey. We got our annually free Lemonade as well as roasted corn oh soooo good. Sada and Kipling ate most of the corn. When you go to the State Fair and you like roasted corn you should go and support my friends at Rice's. We also watched the pig racing which seemed like they made it longer this year. They had the pot belly pigs, ducks, goats, another type of pig racing around a track and it is so amusing to watch, only in the SOUTH do we think this is amusing. We wanted to get some NCSU ice cream, but the line was so long and we had to get home, I had to watch the little boy next door(my little part time job).
That week we pick Sweet Potatos and let me tell you this was the hardest gleaning I had ever done. We have Sweet Potato fields behind our house and we had called and asked the lady it we could go and pick. Well one of the nights Chad got home late we went out and picked, and we had to dig to get some good ones. So, we decided to go again and we asked the granddaughter if we could and she told us we could and the next thing we knew MEAN OLE GRANDMA came and kicked us out. OH Well. Chad did go through the woods another day and got some good size Sweet Potatos so we got around GRANDMA

Where's Sada

There's a couple of place you might find Sada when she wants to be a lone

She loves her wagon

Sada loves to read

she also likes to get into any plastic container she can find. I have tried to get a picture put I am not fast enough on my feet. Sada is such a good baby girl. She turned 1 Aug. 12th, we have not had her one year check up since I cannot drive yet. I am still having problems with the walking thing. Sada has taken 7 steps now, I think she might beat me walking (kind of sad).

Hyco Lake Trip

Two Saturdays ago Cherre and Eric (Chad's sister and husband) invited us to their Lake house. So, Friday night I went to the store and bought the food we were assigned to bring, packed our bags, and forgot to tell Chad to check the tires on the car. On the way to Food Lion I had a strong feeling Chad should check the tires before we make the long trek out past Roxboro. When I got home it was late and I was tired and my neighbors came and talked to us so I did not want to bother Chad to check the tires. Well the next morning the kiddos woke us up early as usual, which I was glad so we could get everything ready to go. I packed the car got the kiddos ready as well as myself and i was about out the door when Chad said I have to change the tire. I said, "WHAT!!" I went out and looked at the tire. The tire was about ready to blow, the tread had already torn and who know what it would have taken for it to blow. So, I had to unpack the car Chad had to find somewhere level to change the tire. The kiddos were actually out in the car while Chad was changing the tire. Well Chad was changing the tire and the car started rolling. He was not very happy. I jumped in the car and put on the parking break mean while Chad is mumbling about the tire and he does not know how people can change a tire on the side of the road. Of course I chime in good thing we did not have to do that. So, after the tire change I packed the car and off we went. I drove. Well I am surely glad we changed our tire before we set out because the drive there was a little scary. We had to go through downtown Durham and through out the whole trip there I do not know how many Yard Sales we saw just off the side of the road there were about 50. Not to mention the Flea Markets they had as well. We made it to the road the Lake House was on with out getting lost. I was very impressed-Cherre kept telling me there was no cell service down there so if you get lost you will have to go all the way back into town to call. Well we get there and Chad happens to forgets to tell me part of the directions so I go down the road and get the the end. Well the directions say to go straight at the fork so I look straight and there is a huge cliff. So, I tell Chad to get out and go and look to see which house it is before I go down one of the big steep drive ways. Well he proceeds to tell me to go down one of the steep drive ways and when I tried to get back up the car just rolled back down. I was not thrilled. Chad told me to get out of the car and he drove. We did happen to have cell service and were able to call and found the house.
The Lake is beautiful, I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as I do. When we got there we changed and then toured the house. Eric had already gotten the boat in the water. The children had to put on their life jackets, kipling did not mind, however Sada's was a little big and she was tired. We got out in the lake and we tubed for a while and then it was mentioned we should swim, since it was getting warm. I jumped in the water and Sada was handed to me. Kipling was in the tube and would not get in the water. Sada loved swimming. Kipling saw his sister doing it so he decided he should get in the water as well (this is working quite well with food as well. Sada will eat something and Kipling will eat it only because Sada is). We swam for quite a while until Eric saw the boat going towards someones dock. We all jumped back in the boat. It was then the time for the Chad, Kip, Sada and I to get in the tube. This was quite funny. We got in the tube and the tube had a hole in it so the air was leaking out slowly so by the time it was our turn it had little air in it (enough to tube). So, Eric starts the boat off and our feet go up in the air and our heads down almost in the water. I am sure it was a sight to see. If I were on the boat I am sure I would have been rolling on the floor laughing. Anyway we get back to the house and we swim around the dock for a while and then we eat lunch. Eric blows the tube up again and then we are off again. After a while Cherre and I decided we were going to get on the tube together. This was hilarious, The tube again had no air ( I do not know if I weighed so much every time I got in the tube the air came out of what). This time their was less air than before so again Cherre and My feet go in the air again, however Eric went faster since there were not children on the tube and the tube would fold like a sandwich so Cherre and I got pretty close. We thought we were going to end up on each others lap. Cherre and I had so much fun we laughed so hard. After tubing we again got out of the boat and swam before it was time to go back to the house to get another tube. We went back out and did some sight seeing (the whole time you were sight seeing looking at all of the houses and the beautiful sights), but we went around the lake. The Lake is so big so we were not able to go around the whole lake. After getting gas we came back to the house around 6:30 got showers cleaned up and we were out by 7:15. We had so much fun and cannot wait to go again. Chad said now he know why people have lake houses and we should look into getting one. We asked Eric how much the lots are going for and he said close to $200-500K (that does not include the house). We will not be getting a lake house or site any time in the near future.

Yesterday/fathers Day

We pretended Yesterday was Fathers Day. We were supposed to go over to the Simpson's house for dinner to celebrate fathers day so I did not plan anything, but when the home folk came down with a bacteria it was best to call it off. So, we did not do anything on fathers day except go to church. So, yesterday I planned a dinner since I knew Chad would be home early to go out with the Missionaries. I told Kipling our plan and needed him to co-operate. Kipling helped me get all of the ingredients out for the cookies and then we had to wait for the butter to soften. The waiting part is where it gets Kipling. He went to go and play with Kitty and it went down hill from there. It ended however, with hitting sada in the head with his plastic dog. He was sent to bed/nap early. I was able to put Sada down for a nap at the same time and was able to make the cookies by myself. Sada woke up while I was cooking the second to last batch of cookies. I had to cook them in my Advantium Oven since I had cleaned my stove/oven and took the racks out and left them out-I also left the scrubber in the oven and so when I turned it there was a nasty smell. So the Advantium it was. The cookies turned out really good. Then it was time to call Chad to see when he was going to get home. At this time it was about 5:00 and he is now at a job in Pinehurst an hour and a half away. He said he would not be able to leave for at least an hour, so I let him know he had to call and cancel with the Missionaries since he would not be home in time-I did give the Missionaries a heads up the night before about him not getting home on time. Sorry to any of you whose husband had to fill in at the last miniute. Any way he got home about 7 and I had dinner almost ready. So, Chad took Kitty and the kids to the neighbors house to play while I was finishing the last miniute touches to dinner. Dinner turned out really good I made Chicken with barbeque sacue, bacon and cheese, with a baked potato on the side, and corn on the cob. I had the table set and we were ready to go. Kip cried the entire meal, Sada on the other hand did really well and just sat there eating Kiplings chicken. Then since it was so late Sada started crying since she was tired and it was her bed time so Chad put her to bed. While he was putting her to bed we got a phone call....It was one of our lovely neighbors from Bellewood Farms (where we own our land). He just kept on going on and on with Chad about when he was going to mow the stinking lot. Chad told him that he could not promise anything but we would try and do it soon but could not commit a date. Anyway this went back and forth for about 15 miniutes. So, I get frustrated one because I wanted to have a nice meal and it is turning out horrible two because our neighbor calls us and grills us on when we are going to mow our grass so they can sell the three houses for sale in the neighborhood-that is right our lot is stopping the three houses for sell in the neighborhood from selling, three because Chad should have already mowed the lot or had our neighbor at the lot mow it for $25 a month four both of our children are screaming. So, my nice wonderful day turned out to be horrible. I just wanted to cry.

Our pet Kitty

Chad brought home a stray Kitten last Friday from one of his job sites. He said the temperature was going to get up quite high and he did not want the cat to have to endure the heat (I have not known a Simpson boy to be sensitive to an animal). I said, "a cat, that is the last thing I would have expected you to have brought home". He said, 'it's only a rental" I was expecting the cat to be gone by now. However we have gotten a little attached to her now. She goes potty outside and is really good with the kids. She had a wake up call at first but is now used to being carried around by the neck, having her hair pulled, being put in the toilet and being held under the water spicket(sp) in the bath tub that is just to name a few of what she has to tolerate to live with at 2 year old and an almost 1o month old. I think she just tolerates it because she has food and AC.
Here are a couple pictures. She is a really pretty kitten, and her name for right now is kitty.

Kids are so Funny

Yesterday was Chad and I's 9th Anniversary. So, it started very early at 4:30am when Sada woke up and Chad brought her to me with HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!. I got up and of course put on a smile and said it back. Kip woke up a little before 6:00 am and I taught him how to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, and of course it did not come out quite that way.

Then when we were in the car on the way to the Library. He was playing with his stuffed Elephant and he said Mommy Elephant stuck. So I reach my hand back there and pretend that the Elephant was really stuck. Then once the Elephant was unstuck he said Elephant crying. I told him to hug the Elephant and give the Elephant a Kiss. I asked him if the Elephant was okay and then he said yes Mommy Elephant Flying. Then a little bit later he says Mommy Elephant Hiny hurt. I told him to put some cream on it. So he immediately puts his finger into his month gets his finger wet and wipes his hiny....I was laughing so hard. I had to hide it because when he looked up he gave me a look . I then asked him if the Elephant was okay and he was the cream/spit worked.
